Southern Wanderer Scenic Cruises is a 100% local family owned/operated boating business. We have lived in Akaroa for over 40 years & are dedicated to sharing our favourite places with you - knowledge & stories about this special place that we call home. Our vessel enables us to explore Akaroa Harbour and take in the breathtaking sights of the extinct volcano in a more sustainable and environmentally-friendly way. Enjoy non-invasive encounters with a unique range of wildlife during the journey. A simply stunning way to see Akaroa and experience New Zealand's natural beauty at its finest.

We reserve the right to cancel a tour at any time, due to weather and sea conditions or insufficient numbers booked.
Minimum age 15 years on scheduled cruises. Minimum age 5 years on private trips.
We specialise in personalised private tours for small groups (1-6 pax) of family, friends or colleagues. - visit our website for details.
Cancellation Policy
If any trip you have booked directly with us is cancelled by us for any reason we will refund your payment in full.
If you cancel a booking for a cruise more than 48 hours before the planned departure time we will refund your payment in full. Payments for bookings for cruises that are cancelled within 48 hours of the planned departure time, including no-shows, will not be refunded.
