Easy access combined with large fish and outstanding natural beauty make the Lake Tekapo Canals one of the most popular freshwater fishing spots in New Zealand and offer anglers the opportunity to bag the catch of a lifetime. Trout weighing more than 4.5kg are common, whilst larger Trout weighing 10-13kg do get caught occasionally. The Canal Salmon weighs in between 1-4kg.
