Close to the airport and the centre yet people always remark on how quiet it is at Thornycroft Bed and Breakfast. This is not only because of its serene setting but also because it is tucked away at the end of a cul-de-sac in a leafy suburb with no noisy traffic; People also say that it feels like a "home away from home". They love chatting over breakfast in the relaxed atmosphere. The guests' reading/living room with television is a delight to retire to after a hectic day, as is the courtyard - on a warm, sunny day. The park across the road has a public tennis court, a library and a field for exercise. There are some fabulous walks such as to historic Riccarton House with its famous Bush Walk and to historic Mona Vale with scenic garden.
